Savage Axis rifles are one of the most popular entry level bolt action rifles on the market. They’re accurate out of the box and you won’t be afraid to take them into the brush or out in harsh conditions. The .243 Winchester cartridge fired by this particular model is also a great multi-purpose round or one that’s exceptional in training new shooters. New shooter or veteran, you’ll appreciate the ability to change bullet weights to match your targeted game. Flat shooting and with minimal recoil, the 243 Win may not do it all but it sure does a lot.

Our Axis wears serial number P792616. It has a 22 inch carbon steel matte black barrel and a detachable 4 round magazine. While the rifle came from the factory without iron sights, there are scope rings already mounted for you. A safety sits on the tang and can be easily reached by all shooters.

The stock is a black synthetic with a black, rubber recoil pad. Sling swivels sit on the underneath side of the stock.

The barrel and receiver finish are Near Mint and show no issues. The stock is in Very Good condition. Bore is very clean and the barrel is bright. The rifling appears to be crisp. The trigger is light and crisp.

Overall, this is an affordable bolt action rifle that appears to have been well cared for. Add in the fact that it comes in such a versatile caliber and you have quite a bargain.
