Just bought this vintage Smith & Wesson pre model 10 K-frame revolver with 2" barrel and looking to sell it after doing some additional research on it.
This revolver is a S&W Victory model sent to Great Britain under the lend lease program of WW2, then re-imported back to the US probably in the 1950s or 1960s. It was originally chambered in 38 S&W which was more popular in Great Britain, but it was rechambered in 38 special upon coming back to the states, as was popular at the time to appeal to American buyers who were more used to 38 special. Barrel was likely cut down to 2" from the original 4" at that time. The lanyard ring was removed and its hole in the frame on the butt of the grip was filled in.
The cylinder and cylinder frame are numbers matching. Overall the revolver is in good shape with reasonable cylinder lockup and timing given its age. It has a set of aftermarket grips on it.
Asking $350 obo. Cash / Venmo / Cashapp / PayPal / Zelle accepted. Trades considered - interested in anything WW1 or WW2 vintage.
Selling because I'm more of an original vintage collector and prefer that this modified revolver in good condition go to someone who is more interested in a general overall shooter. Collector value is limited due to modification but would make a great home defense or glovebox gun - nothing more reliable than a revolver in 38 special.
