Description
The Smith & Wesson Model 39 is a semi-automatic pistol developed for the United States Army service pistol trials of 1954. After the Army abandoned its search for a new pistol- (staying with the Colt 1911A1), the Model 39 went on to be offered to the civilian market.

This Model 39 was built with an anodized aluminum frame, a curved backstrap and a blued carbon steel slide that carried the manual decocker/ safety. The gun has a magazine disconnect and a wide trigger allowing for an easy double action trigger pull of 11lb thereafter breaking at 3.25lb with a very short and fast reset, once shooting is over the decocker is moved downwards, safely returning the pistol to double action mode, otherwise known as a slide safety.

This gun is in the exceptional condition, I'd rate it at 99%, the only deflect is a small scratch on the bottom of the underneath portion of the frame (noted in photo). Other than that gun is flawless, completely operational, fully functional with sharp, crisp rifling in the barrel. It's a beauty which will bolster any collection. Based on five (5) digit serial number, manufacture occurred in early to mid sixties. Buyer must pay for two-day shipping and must have an FFL who will accept shipment from no licensee.
