That said this is a bit of an unusual custom CCW configuration so please read...
I built two identical M&P compacts for CCW and decided I only needed one. I had had problems in the past with getting the M&P CORE models to cowitness the optic and irons properly with an optic plate without using an absurdly high sight set which proved to be a problem for drawing/holstering as the sight channel wasn't tall enough. Additionally I had seen failure problems with the typical optic plate breaking due to heavy use and discovered Vulcan Machine Werks in Plano TX to mill a slide to directly accept the ACRO This solves the mounting plate failure issue and gave it a DLC finish. (https://vulcanmachinewerks.com/m-p-aimpoint-acro/ - they do other pistol models as well, can't recommend their work enough).
This gun fits holsters just fine, and co-witnesses optic/irons perfectly.
The quirk with performing this modification is that it requires the deletion of a rear sight. While only a problem if the optic goes down the enclosed emitter of the ACRO makes it a very robust and reliable optic. Additionally you can aim very effectively centering the suppressor heigh sight in the window of the optic making head shots at 10 yards no problem. This might be a problem (depending on practice routine) for extended range shots ONLY IF the optic goes down...which it won't if cared for properly and batteries are changed yearly. After a little practice I was able to consistently make 100 yard shots on man sized steel with the ACRO turned off...that said you have to practice that skill anyways but with the suppressor height sights and the clean/clear sight picture using the optic window, you have very good visibility on the target and front to account for the elevation necessary as well as deliver more precise windage.
