The Walther PPS is a favorite among the discerning compact carry crowd.
Trigger: Considered one of the best compact 9 triggers out of the box! The perfect pull for protection . . . not too heavy . . . not too light. You don’t want to shoot unless you really intend to, but you don’t want too much resistance to delay you either.
Wonderfully sculpted trigger safety that you barely notice. SMOOTH trigger - no grit whatsoever and clean break. Very positive trigger reset, which is also purposefully short the way you want it. A great segway into the Walther’s excellent shooting dynamics . . .
Superb Handling: This pistol has all famous Walther traits. While many compacts leave a lot to be desired when handling, this Walther handles more like a full size and provides a solid feel of confidence. Very mild recoil for a compact pistol thanks the Walther’s finely tuned slide spring, something that few compact 9 mm pistols can provide. Walther PPS hit a home run with this recoil spring because the racking effort is also unexpectedly mild. All this adds up to minimal fatigue after shooting at the range for several hours or lots of firing during training exercises.
The mag release is PERFECTLY placed right where you can get it, and this mag release pops mags out the right way – clean and fast!
Controls: Very handy cocking indicator on the back of the slide and a chamber view slot on the top of the slide.
Grip: Perfect ergonomic grip fit your hand comfortably the Walther is famous for. Walther added their special “tri-scallop” pattern all around grip surface that real shooters lover! And THIN for easy concealed carry, whether inside or outside a waist holster, fanny pack or hand bag.
Sights: These are the proven 3 Dot system, but they come with a welcome improvement from Walther – larger white dots for easy visibility, point shooting and target acquisition. Windage ADJUSTABLE rear sight is an excellent touch by Walther, something you don’t typically see on compacts. Sights are easy to remove to upgrade to night sights.
Field-stripping: This is a breeze. Rack the slide, ensure the chamber is empty, dry fire the empty gun and pull down the ambidextrous takedown lever. Remove the slide.
Another bonus from Walther often not seen in other brands: ¾ of the slide along the frame is reinforced for durability and reliability.
