This Savage 99 in .303 Savage was made in 1901. It would qualify for Antique Fine/Excellent. 99%+ original bluing remains. The stock and forend have a few minor dings, but the overall condition of the wood is very nice. There is no pitting of metal, and the action is very smooth. The rifling is sharp, with no apparent pitting.
It has a 26" barrel with buckhorn sights. This 123-year-old rifle is outstanding. I acquired it in 1970 with a small quantity of ammo. It is quite accurate. Factory ammo is no longer made, but I have a quantity of new 303 Savage brass. The good news is Lee sells reloading dies on Amazon for $37.00, and the .303 Savage uses standard .308 diameter bullets and large rifle primers. So if you reload or know someone who does, you have a shooter and a collector's piece. NO TRADES FOR MODERN (POST-1960)FIREARMS
