This M1 Garand Rifle is a CMP Service Grade and has TE reading of " and a ME reading of "2" which puts it well within the parameters of being issued. It has original Military wood with the DOD Cartouche and the circled "P" on the pistol grip. The metal is in very nice condition and the wood has handling marks and dents from Military use. The serial number dates the mfg. circa 1952-54 as being assigned to the Springfield Armory. The barrel is dated 4/53 and I'm assuming that it''s the original barrel. It has a milled trigger guard and all of the internal components that I can see are marked "SA" (Springfield Armory). It has a rack number of "238" on the buttstock. This rifle would fit great into a Military collection.
