Smith & Wesson Model 36. Chief's Special variant in .38 spl w/ a manufacturer's date of 1950. This is the snub nose variant and was the first year the Chief's Special went into production. Serial # 139xx Original wood grips w/ 2" barrel. Excellent condition! 95+%, small scratch near trigger guard as pictured. Very slight roll line on cyclinder.
This was my grandfather's revolver that I inhearted when he passed. This was a part of his larger collection.
This has been appraised by Stonewall Jackson's Armory located in Mineola Texas. Here are the quoted comments from that appraisal: "Variants: Early Model, w/o Letter Prefix, Bright Satin Finish, Round Butt"
